Jubilee Farm is a mixed farm in the Snoqualmie Valley. We operate a year-round CSA, an October pumpkin patch, and raise pastured meat. Our CSA is the main outlet for our produce. While we are not certified organic, we are committed to growing clean food; we do not spray any kind of herbicide, pesticide, or chemical fertilizer, and we have an intensive on farm fertility plan.

We are currently hiring for the following position(s):

2020 Field Crew

We are looking to build out our field crew for the 2020 season! We pride ourselves on low turnover and our main crew has been with us for at least 3 years with some working with us for 8+ years. We fill much of our labor need with our workshare crew (folks who do 4 hours a week for their CSA share), but we need a core seasonal field crew who can assume more responsibility and who ideally have an interest in learning and furthering their work within the farming realm.
Position Summary:
The Field Crew does the labor necessary for running our vegetable, fruit, and grain CSA. Daily tasks vary depending on the needs of the farm, and the weather. The bulk of the work involves planting, weeding, and harvesting. Experience in farming not required but an interest in organic agriculture, a desire to learn and ability to work hard in whatever Mother Nature dishes out is key.

An ideal candidate would be able to:

  • Work hard in all weather conditions
  • Stay organized and flexible
  • Stay positive in stressful situations
  • Anticipate problems
  • Clearly communicate with a wide variety of people and positions
  • Lift 40lbs unassisted
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools

Qualifications:

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a valid driver’s licenses
  • Must display eagerness to work, learn, and grow!

Compensation:

  • $14 an hour
  • A weekly CSA Box of Farm Produce
  • A share of meat produced on the farm

Time commitment:
This job is a full time, seasonal position. The monthly time commitment is roughly 160 hours, though come pumpkin season in October more hours will be available. This position is open during the spring and through the month of October.

  1. Hi, How is a couple different from the family? Will you consider me with my wife a couple share or a family share?

    1. Hi Dwipen – thanks for your question! The Family Share is larger than the Couples Share. Family Shares contain either additional items beyond what the Couples Share contains, or larger quantities of items in the Couples Share, depending on what is available for harvest each week. I’d usually recommend starting with a Couples Share for two folks – you’d always be welcome to up-size to a Family Share any time, too.

      Best wishes,
      Kristin
