Know your farmer, grow your community

Do you feel connected to your food system?

Hi! We’re the Haakenson family. We’re the second (and third!) generations farming this special patch of land in Carnation, Washington – just 45 minutes east of Seattle. We have the help of an amazing crew that’s passionate about sustainably growing healthy food.

So many folks feel like there’s a gap between them and their food system.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) bridges the gap.

During the Fall, Winter, and Spring months, we feature three CSA seasons, each one being 8 weeks long. Members subscribe up-front to receive a box of delicious produce each week for the duration of the season. That allows you to continue to enjoy fresh, organic produce all year long, all the while supporting your local farmers.

You can subscribe to one or more of these CSA seasons – it’s up to you! This is a great way to try out a CSA, or to keep continuity with local eating during the colder months.

  • Fall Session (8 weeks): November through December
  • Winter Session (8 weeks): February through mid-April
  • Spring Session (8 weeks): mid-April through May

How our Fall/Winter/Spring CSAs work

Connect

When you connect to Jubilee with a Fall, Winter, and/or Spring CSA membership, you’re subscribing up-front to a weekly share of produce for 8 weeks per CSA season.

We pack your box

Each week, we pack your CSA box with fresh, local produce – either grown here at Jubilee Farm with organic farming methods, or grown by our certified Organic regional neighbors.

You pick up your box

Every Wednesday from noon – 7 pm, your CSA box will be available at your chosen depot.

Enjoy & create!

We provide weekly Boxletters filled with tips & recipes to help you make the most of your produce each week, and you can share ideas with other members in our Facebook group!

“Although we started after Winter Session last year, I feel like we have gotten a good feel for the various foods we will enjoy through your farm.  I never liked to cook, and mealtimes were very stressful for me.  That was until I started getting your farm boxes.  Now I look forward every week to Wednesday and figuring out what we are going to eat based on the veggies we receive.  You have given me a new excitement for food, and I always pass along your praises (and CSAs in general) to anyone who will listen.”

What’s included in a Fall/Winter/Spring CSA membership?

  • Weekly share of produce (for 8 weeks per CSA session) grown either here at Jubilee Farm with organic farming methods, or grown by our certified Organic regional neighbors
  • Jubilee Farm eggs from our happy, pastured hens! *subject to availability
  • Weekly Boxletter filled with tips, recipes, and updates from the farm
  • Access to our Cultivating Community Facebook group, where CSA members share recipe ideas and tips

What’s in a weekly share?

The shares during these “off-season” sessions will primarily contain the hearty vegetables and fruit that these months offer from our region. The produce will either come from Jubilee Farm or will be purchased from other farm that adhere to the same growing practices that we do.  We aim to source all of our produce from WA/OR farms, but during the tightest months we do sometimes reach out to CA farms as well.  These boxes will feature a variety of storage crops like carrots, beets, potatoes, turnips, onions etc. as well as hearty greens such as kale or collards.  We often include locally grown mushrooms, microgreens, and our own eggs to provide some variety.  As Spring approaches, we begin to see more tender greens like arugula and cool-weather crops like radishes and herbs.

      1. We went today with our kids to get pumpkins! The atmosphere there was great and we all had a wonderful time. The boys of course loved the trebuchet! Thanks for a great day!
