Your Summer CSA Experience at
Jubilee Farm

20 weeks of fresh Jubilee produce – June through October

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm allows folks to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown by their local farmers. When you become a member of a CSA, you’re purchasing a “share” of produce; your weekly share contains the delicious produce that a patch of land has to offer that week. This is local-eating at its finest – you get to enjoy the waves of your local growing season. By paying up front, you are helping us to buy the things we need to grow your food: seeds, equipment, tools when we need them, and much more.

By being a member of Jubilee’s CSA, not only do you enjoy fresh, nourishing food – but you also get to engage with the land & the people that provide that food. All of the produce you receive in your Summer CSA Share is grown right here at Jubilee Farm using organic farming methods. When you visit the farm, you’ll be able to chat with us when you see us out in the fields and see the the crops grow & mature – you’ll get to be a part of life on the farm.

During our Summer CSA Session, which lasts for 20 weeks (June – October), you can choose between three share sizes, and you can either pick up here on the farm or have your share delivered to one of our depots.

FULL SHARE

$900 for 20 weeks 
(plus $96 if Delivery)

The Full Share is our standard share size.  This is meant to feed a family of four or two adults who like to eat vegetables (and possibly do a little preserving and fill their freezers!) (This is equivalent to our Family Share size from previous years).

THREE QUARTER SHARE

$700 for 20 weeks 
(plus $96 if Delivery)

The Three Quarter Share is just that: 3/4 the size of our Full Share.  This share size is designed to meet the needs of 2-3 people or a family with small children with little left to carry over from week to week. (This is equivalent to our Couples Share size from previous years).

HALF SHARE

$500 for 20 weeks
(plus $96 if Delivery)

The Half Share is half the size of our Full Share.  This is a new option for us in 2019, meant to provide for either a single person, those that tend to eat out a few nights a week, or folks who are learning to love veggies!


PICK-UP AT THE FARM

When you pick up here on the farm, most of your share’s produce has already been harvested by us and is waiting for you in the barn when you arrive – we recommend bringing a cooler, laundry basket, box, or bags to bring your produce home in. We also have some U-Pick options included with your share each week – throughout the season, there are flowers, beans, peas, berries, herbs, and much more that you get to harvest (for U-Pick, you’ll want to just bring a pair of scissors – and maybe a vase or jar to transport your flowers home safely).

FARM PICK-UP HOURS

  • Tuesdays: noon – 6 pm
  • Fridays: noon – 6 pm
  • Saturdays: 9 am – 3 pm (new extended hours for 2019!)

Nestled in the lush Snoqualmie Valley, with the Cascades just in the distance, Jubilee is a uniquely beautiful place – we hope that when you come to pick up your share, you’ll be able to enjoy a walk or a picnic on the farm.  We invite you to make a day of it.

U-PICK

We have a plethora of U-Pick items available for our members throughout the season – flowers, herbs, beans, berries, and more.  The U-Pick is a great way to really get involved with the farm and get your hands in the dirt a bit!

There is no extra cost for U-Pick – it’s a bonus for your share!

FARM SCHOOL

During July & August, we invite our CSA members and their kiddos to dig into the life of the farm by attending Farm School – we plant seeds, harvest veggies, collect eggs, & more for about half an hour each session. It’s a great opportunity for your children to learn, first-hand, about where their food comes from!

JULY & AUGUST

“I just want to thank you for making Jubilee Farm such a wonderful, welcoming place to be.  This was the first year that we’ve been part of your CSA, and we look forward to many more years.  I have a 5-year-old boy, and our Fridays at the farm were the highlight of the summer for us.  He absolutely loved farm school, and he had so much fun helping me with the u-pick items.  Every time we got home from the farm, my son wanted to try all of the vegetables.  This summer, he discovered a love for cucumbers, beets, kale chips, artichokes, winter squash, and edamame.  I feel so fortunate to know that he’s eating the healthiest food available and really enjoying it!  We really want to raise our son to enjoy healthy foods and appreciate where our food comes from.  You’ve helped us so much with that.”

CASCADING KITCHEN

Our barn hosts a spacious kitchen, stocked with sinks & all of the tools necessary to help you prepare your produce before taking it home. Best of all, our food coaches Terrie & Mimi will be in the kitchen to demo techniques, sample recipes, and help you make the most of your share!

BARN MARKET

Our Barn Market shelves, fridges, and freezers are stocked with a variety of Jubilee goods: eggs, beef, preserves like strawberry jam, handmade beef tallow soap, stone-ground flour, and more.

We also feature wonderful products from our neighbors and other regional folks – butter, cheese, sea salt, seasoning rubs, tea, laundry soap, etc. And, of course, we stock our favorite cookbooks!

You can also grab a popsicle, cold beverage, chips, etc!


DELIVERY

$96 additional, one-time charge

You can choose to have your share of produce delivered weekly to one of our Summer Session depots.  Beautiful boxes of just-harvested produce are available at depots throughout Seattle and the Eastside on Wednesdays from noon – 7 pm.  This is a great option for folks who want to enjoy fresh, local produce but aren’t able to make it out to the farm on a regular basis – we’ll bring the bounty of the farm to you!

We encourage you to come visit the farm sometime if you’re able to! As a delivery member, you can still choose to pick up at the farm (and/or do U-Pick!) by contacting us by noon on Monday of the week(s) you wish to come.

What’s in a Summer CSA Share?

When our Summer CSA Session begins in June, the first few weeks of CSA shares mostly consist of greens: head lettuce, arugula, mizuna, totsoi, poc choi, mustards, chard, kale, etc. Soon, the shares become a smorgasbord of the freshest and tastiest vegetables you can imagine—and all grown without any herbicides, pesticides, preservatives, or any synthetic fertilizers.

Greens continue throughout the season, joined by summer squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, beans, raspberries, artichokes, broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries, cabbage, watermelons, peppers, potatoes, onions, cantaloupes, basil, kohlrabi, corn, leeks, fennel, carrots, garlic, beets, radishes, cilantro, turnips, winter squashes, and more.

“Thank you for growing such a wide variety. You have some very unique and interesting things growing at the farm – like a yellow watermelon that I’ve never tried or seen before, or edamame beans, that I’ve tried before but have never seen how they grow, or grapes that you can’t buy in store, because they are not a popular variety, but they smell and taste just like the ones we had at home when I was growing up, or sorrel that in stores they sell in 2oz boxes, more like an herb instead of greens. That is one of the many reasons I love Jubilee farm.”
